Selling Old Jewelry For Cash

If you are one of the millions of people that are struggling financially and are thinking of selling your old and or unused jewelry then I suggest you read this article.

You may find that your older jewelry is now longer in style , but it has a new dazzle in today's economy. The dazzle is what it is worth . with the problems n the stock market and today's struggling people , the gold prices or any metal has risen as it has a tendency to do when times are tough. But beware of the many unscrupulous people that use these times and higher prices to take advantage of peoples problems and need for quick money.

The one problem with the cost of rising metal is that it brings all types of unscrupulous people out into the open and trust me they are after your money. beware of these type of people for they will offer you far less than what your merchandise is really worth. They are out for themselves and don not care who they may hurt. Some of them use methods that will leave you unsure of what just happened.

Have you seen those TV commercials offering you cash for your old gold jewelry? Do you know what the Better Business Bureau is warning people when selling their old jewelry? They clam that you would be better off not using one of these companies. They claim that these companies that spend all those dollars on advertising bring n more complaints in the last year and a half than any other company that actually purchases old jewelry and does not spend all that money on advertising on late night television.

Most these companies all have online websites that appeal to those who are desperate to raise some cash quickly. They clam that for a small fee they will pay for your old jewelry and pay directly into your bank account within 24 hours of you sending them the jewelry and them examining it. They also will offer a second choice to pay you by check giving you 10 days to decide if you really want to make the deal or not. The catch is If you decide not to cash the check then you return the check to them and they will return your jewelry to you. However this can take time , in most cases 30 days or more at which time you do not have access to your jewelry and therefore cannot sell it .

People are also using a time proven method just like Avon or Watkins and that is a gold selling party. You can act as the buyer but remember the kits cost you over $500.00 or you could be the hostess which usually gets a commission on everything that is purchased . The commission is usually around 10% of the gross. And you will also get reimbursed for any beverages you serve. You can contact a buyer and have him conduct the party at your house. If you go to a gold selling party remember you will be paying a commission on everything you sell.

My favorite way to dispose of any old jewelry for cash is to look in the phonebook and see who buys jewelry and then take my stuff and go business to business and see what is the best price I can get. Don't always take the first price they offer. They will most assuredly offer you the rock bottom price and in most cases you can bring that price up. The expect to negotiate as they know the price is low.

One more thing if you need the cash there is no point in holding on hoping the prices will rise.
